Mrs Véronique du Passage

France and Iraq have a long tradition of exchange in all fields, especially in the Agrofood & Packaging sector. With more than 200 member companies, adepta represents the entire savoir-faire of the French agrofood & packaging industry.

We look forward to going to Iraq with our long-standing partner fairtrade and I am very glad to confirm that adepta will organize a French pavilion at iraq agrofood 2019.

Mr Hashim M. Hatem Al-Sudani
Director General and Chairman of the Board - State Company for Iraqi Fairs & Commercial Services & Baghdad International Fair Ground

Iraq‘s trade with the world in the Agrofood and PlastPrintPack sector exceeds an annual volume of US$7 billion. According to the FAO, $6.3 billion of this is accounted for by imports of food and beverages and hundreds of millions of dollars for the import of machinery and equipment and for plastics in primary forms. The value of food production in Iraq is $3 billion, a value that Iraq intends to steadily increase in the coming years.

To give Iraqi market participants a comprehensive overview of the best products and to promote technology transfer, the State Company for Iraqi Fairs & Commercial Services and the Ministry of Commerce will do everything in our power to make the planned iraq agrofood & plastprintpack trade show a great success.

Mr Çağatay Erşahin
Sales Director and Executive Board Member - Expotim & Ladin Group

Turkey is Iraq‘s largest trading partner. For Turkey, Iraq is the fifth largest buyer of Turkish products in the world. Especially Turkish food, bakery and confectionery specialities as well as beverages are very popular in Iraq, and also machines and plants.

For many years we have been accompanying Turkish exhibitors on fairs in Iraq in the energy and building sector. We are therefore delighted that with iraq agrofood & plastprintpack we now also have a very good platform for this sector.

We are looking forward to organizing a Turkish pavilion and will apply to the Turkish Ministry of Trade for supporting our exhibitors.

Dr. Antonio Puggioni
Head of the Economic and Development - Cooperation Section - Embassy of Italy in Iraq

Italy is Iraq’s seventh largest buyer and tenth largest seller in the world. As such the two nations enjoy fruitful and long-standing relations, in different fields that also include machinery and agriculture. Moreover, Italian food, coffee, drinks are very popular in Iraq. Italian agrofood processing and plastprintpack machinery are and will be key for Iraq’s ongoing modernization process, with a view to improving the level of self-sufficiency of Iraqis.

With 40 million inhabitants Iraq is one of the three largest countries in the Arab world in terms of population. Italy looks forward to proposing modern technologies that will be helpful in significantly increasing production and services in the country.

Paul März
Managing Director - fairtrade

Iraq is one of the largest food and beverage markets in the Middle East - still undersupplied. This requires massive investment in processing and packaging equipment.

According to VDMA German Food Processing and Packaging Machinery Association, Iraq imported 524 million € worth of food and beverage processing and packaging machinery between 2012 and 2017, making it one of the five largest buyers of such technology in the Middle East. A clear signal of the political will to expand local food production and the „Made-in-Iraq“ trend.

In the run-up to the trade fair launch, we have already spoken to many companies who have signaled their clear interest in participating. We are therefore delighted to be putting together a German pavilion.
